Project CNicknamed "Bombingham", Birmingham Alabama was known for it's racial discrimination and segregation against African American citizens. The Birmingham Campaign was referred to as Project C. The "C" stood for confrontation, which is a hostile or argumentative agreement or situation between two opposing groups. The protest began on April 3, 1963 where protesters boycotted things such as, downtown stores and all white churches. The protesters were sick of racial discrimination and needed to take action to lead their way to being equal. "Separate but equal" does not guarantee equality.
